County Reproductive Rights Network
The
Ventura County Reproductive Rights Network (VCRRN) was formed as a countywide umbrella of organizations and
individuals to advocate for reproductive rights, educate the
community about issues affecting reproductive rights and share
information regarding issues of reproductive freedom and human
sexuality facing the community.

Women's
Equality Day Events
Every
year, in recognition of Women's Equality Day, the VCRRN hosts Write
For Your Rights and the SBPCC hosts the Great
American Write-In. In
addition to organizing a massive state and federal lobbying
effort through letter-writing, this event will provide an
opportunity for organizations to network with one another,
distribute materials, and recruit new members. At last
year’s event, the SBPCC and the VCRRN collected over 1500
letters in support of reproductive freedom, and we hope to
exceed that number this year.

Reproductive Rights Activist and Author, Loretta Ross was the guest speaker for the Santa Barbara
Pro-Choice Coalition's Roe Anniversary event.
2007 Roe Anniversary Event
Reproductive Rights Activist and Author, Jane Roberts was the guest speaker for the Santa Barbara
Pro-Choice Coalition's Roe Anniversary event.
2006 Roe Anniversary Event
Maggie Crosby was the guest speaker for the Santa Barbara
Pro-Choice Coalition's Roe Anniversary event. Maggie Crosby,
attorney for the ACLU of Northern California and the Campaign
for Teen Safety - No on Prop. 73, she specializes in
reproductive privacy cases. Maggie gave a riveting overview of
the legal history and current state of reproductive rights in
the U.S.

2008 Roe Anniversary Event
The Ventura County Reproductive Rights Network viewed the
movie "Leona's Sister's Gerri". This film uncovers the
story behind a photograph of a woman who died from an
illegal abortion and explains how the image became a symbol
for the pro-choice movement.
2007 Roe
Anniversary Event
"All Politics Is Personal". The Ventura County Reproductive
Rights Network hosted a celebration luncheon to celebrate
reproductive freedom. Music was performed by Fearmia and
Rabbi Ted Riter served as the master of ceromonies.
2006 Roe Anniversary Event
The Ventura County Reproductive Rights Network hosted Choice:
the Next Generation. Keynote speaker Jane Roberts gained
international recognition for co-founding the 34
Million Friends campaign in response to the U.S. decision
to withhold $34 million in funds from the UNFPA, denying women
around the world access to reproductive health care.
