ABOUT PUBLIC AFFAIRS

The goal of the Public Affairs Department of PPSBVSLO is to initiate, support, and defend public policies that assure access to reproductive health care, reproductive choice, and comprehensive sexuality education, and promote every child being a wanted child.

To accomplish this goal we will work to create and maintain a climate of public support for reproductive health care issues through public information and advocacy.

Planned Parenthood's effectiveness in advocacy depends on it's credibility as a resource on reproductive health care issues. For much of the public we have become identified with the abortion issue. We need to continue to emphasize that Planned Parenthood's primary mission is the provision of preventive reproductive health care services and education that reduce the need for abortion.
